ActivTrades Review 2026:
Fees, Spreads, Safety & Platforms

By Phyllis Wangui |  TraderFactor |  Updated

This ActivTrades review 2026 examines the costs, account protections and platform choices that matter before you open an account. We look at spreads, minimum deposits, withdrawals, TradingView connectivity and the differences between regional account terms.

Our view: ActivTrades deserves consideration if you want a choice of platforms for active CFD trading. Your decision should depend on the specific entity, instruments and total costs available to you.

Quick verdict: is ActivTrades worth considering?

The strongest reason to consider ActivTrades is its platform choice. You can compare its own ActivTrader platform with MetaTrader 5 and use TradingView through an ActivTrader account. MT4 remains listed on the UK and EU websites, but availability should be confirmed for your account.

Advertised forex pricing starts from 0.5 pips. Most products have no separate trading commission under current published terms, although exceptions and other costs apply. Treat the starting spread as a headline price, then check your instruments, trading hours and holding period.

Our practical assessment

ActivTrades fees and spreads: what does trading cost?

A low advertised spread is useful, but it is only part of the bill. Your total cost can include the spread, any applicable commission, overnight financing and currency-conversion or payment charges. Compare the same instrument, trade size and holding period when assessing brokers.

ActivTrades trading and account costs
CostCurrent published positionWhat to check
Forex spreadFrom 0.5 pips.Your live bid/ask spread, especially around news and quieter trading hours.
Trading commissionMost products have no separate commission, including share and ETF CFDs.Exceptions apply to certain financial-sector clients and Brazilian spot-share/ETF investment accounts.
Overnight financingInstrument-specific swaps or financing adjustments can apply.Long and short rates, rollover day and the number of nights held.
DepositsGenerally free from ActivTrades under its published funding terms.Payment-provider costs and exceptional pass-through processing charges.
WithdrawalsGenerally free; some bank transfers may cost £9 or equivalent.Method, currency, receiving-bank charges and local charges.
Funding currency conversion0.5% for deposits or withdrawals made in a different currency from the account base currency. This is a funding conversion charge; do not assume it describes every trading P&L conversion.
Inactivity or dormant accountA current universal charge and trigger could not be verified from the accessible primary material.Read your entity’s current client agreement or obtain written confirmation before leaving funds unused.

What does a 0.5-pip spread mean in money?

For frequent trading, compare spread plus round-trip commission against a raw-spread account elsewhere. For a position held for several nights, financing may matter more than a small difference in entry spread. Our forex spreads versus commissions guide
explains that comparison.

Check swaps before holding overnight

ActivTrades publishes rollover at 00:00 platform time. Its swap guidance describes triple rollover on Wednesday for forex and precious metals, and Friday for most other instruments. Check the specific contract and holiday schedule; a hedged position can still attract adjustments on both sides.

Is ActivTrades regulated and safe?

ActivTrades operates through multiple legal entities.
The name in your client agreement determines your regulator and protection framework. A licence held by one group company does not automatically cover an account with another.

Selected ActivTrades entities; this is not an exhaustive group list
Entity and jurisdictionRegulatory referenceProtection context
ActivTrades PLC — UKFCA firm reference number 434413.Eligible investment claims may qualify for FSCS compensation up to £85,000 per person, per firm.
ActivMarkets Empresa de Investimento, S.A. — PortugalCMVM registration 433, as disclosed in current legal material. The EU protection page states eligible Investor Compensation System claims up to €25,000.
ActivTrades Corp. — BahamasListed by the Securities Commission of The Bahamas in its 31 August 2026 register.Bahamas account terms apply; UK/EU compensation should not be assumed.
ActivTrades Markets Ltd. — MauritiusActivTrades discloses FSC Mauritius licence GB24203277.Mauritius account terms apply; this licence was not independently confirmed in the FSC register for this review.

Entity references and compensation limits have separate eligibility conditions.

Understand the different types of protection

  • Segregated client money: ActivTrades states that client funds are held separately from its own funds. Segregation is an account safeguard, not protection against losing trades.
  • Negative balance protection: check how it applies to your entity and client classification. It is different from a stop-loss order and does not preserve the money already in your account.
  • Compensation and insurance: eligible broker-failure claims are different from normal market losses. ActivTrades also advertises additional client-fund insurance, including cover up to £1 million per eligible claimant for the UK entity and €1 million per eligible claimant for the Portuguese entity, subject to policy terms, retention amounts and exclusions.

Insurance is separate from statutory compensation. Do not add headline limits together or treat them as a guaranteed repayment.

ActivTrades platforms: ActivTrader, MT5, MT4 and TradingView

Choose the platform around the tools you already use and the markets you need. The same broker name does not mean that every platform exposes the same instruments, account mode or order functions.

How to connect ActivTrades to TradingView

  1. Open an eligible ActivTrader account and confirm that the connection is available for your region.
  2. Sign in to TradingView and open its Trading Panel.
  3. Select ActivTrades and connect using your ActivTrader account credentials.
  4. Check the account, instrument list and order controls before placing a trade.

TradingView confirms that the integration uses an ActivTrader account. MT4 or MT5 credentials are not a substitute. Funding and withdrawal requests remain with ActivTrades.

Execution, scalping and automated trading

ActivTrades permits scalping and algorithmic trading, subject to restrictions on abusive or prohibited practices. That permission does not guarantee fills at the clicked price. Gaps, liquidity and fast markets can affect execution, including stop orders.

This review does not present a live execution benchmark. We also avoid describing the broker as a pure agency ECN: its own spread explanation identifies ActivTrades as the transaction counterparty.

What can you trade with ActivTrades?

ActivTrader advertises more than 1,000 CFDs across seven asset classes. The global product range covers forex, indices, commodities, shares, ETFs, bonds and cryptocurrencies. The instruments available to you depend on your entity and platform.

Forex: compare the spread, swap and minimum trade size for each currency pair.

  • Indices and commodities: check whether the contract is cash-based or linked to a futures market, and how financing or expiry works.
  • Shares and ETFs: a CFD provides price exposure without automatically giving you ownership or shareholder rights.
  • Bonds and crypto: check market hours, contract specifications and regional restrictions. UK rules prohibit the sale of crypto derivatives to retail clients.

Crypto restriction source: current FCA Handbook. CFD exposure should not be confused with owning coins or securities.

A broad list is only useful if it includes the instruments you actually trade. Before funding, open the platform’s symbol list and check trading hours, position-size increments, margin and financing.

ActivTrades account types and minimum deposit

What is the minimum deposit in 2026?

The current Help Centre says there is no minimum initial deposit for global, UK and European clients, with a USD 250 requirement in certain jurisdictions. It does not identify those jurisdictions in that article, so confirm the requirement during your country-specific application.

The minimum required to activate an account is different from the margin needed to open a position. A small deposit may leave little room for normal price movement, trading costs or a sensible position size.

DemoPractice platform functions with virtual funds. The Help Centre states 30-day expiry, with another demo available.Demo results do not establish future live performance or identical execution.

ActivTrades leverage and margin requirements

There is no single leverage limit for every ActivTrades customer. Limits depend on entity, client classification, instrument and position size. The published EUR/USD schedules illustrate how different the terms can be.

Published EUR/USD examples, checked 22 October 2026
Account contextExample leverageQualification
UK and EU retail1:30Published EUR/USD margin is 3.33%; other instruments have different limits.
Bahamas schedule1:200 in the first published position bandThe EUR/USD table reduces leverage as exposure increases.
Mauritius schedule1:1000 for the published 0–5-lot bandHigher position bands have lower leverage; eligibility and current margin rules apply.

These are instrument examples, not promises of account eligibility or a recommendation to use maximum leverage.

For scale, using US$1,000 to control US$30,000 of exposure creates 30:1 effective leverage. A 1% adverse move would mean roughly US$300 of loss before costs. Actual account results also depend on pricing, margin close-out and other positions.

The TraderFactor referral link does not override regional eligibility or leverage rules. Use position size and risk limits that fit your circumstances; our forex risk-management guide explains the underlying principles.

Deposits and withdrawals: methods, timing and costs

ActivTrades lists bank transfers, cards and several electronic payment methods. Availability depends on your country and account. Check the payment options inside the client area before assuming that a method advertised elsewhere will be available to you.

Published processing timeframes, not independently tested results
TransactionWhat ActivTrades publishes
Card and e-wallet depositsAround 30 minutes after transaction execution, subject to the applicable funding conditions.
Bank-transfer depositsUsually 3–5 business days to clear; credited on the day the transfer reaches ActivTrades.
WithdrawalsRequests processed within one business day. Bank transfers may take 3–5 business days to reach the receiving account.

Payment timings are indicative and can be affected by banks, verification and holidays.

The withdrawal guidance says card or payment-provider withdrawals normally return funds through the original method up to the deposited amount. Profits above that amount can be withdrawn by bank transfer.

[12]

Before submitting a withdrawal, check the available balance, any open-position margin requirements, applicable transfer charges and the destination currency. A broker’s processing time and the time your bank takes to credit the money are different measures.

Customer support, education and research tools

ActivTrades currently advertises support 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Its contact page lists live chat, WhatsApp, callback requests and an online message form. This is the published service schedule; we have not measured response times for this review.

Educational resources include webinars, platform manuals and market analysis. These can help you understand order entry and platform functions. They should support a trading plan that includes position sizing and loss limits.

For additional lessons, visit the  TraderFactor Trading Academy. Treat analysis tools as research inputs and check every proposed trade against your own risk rules.

ActivTrades pros, cons and who it may suit

For active forex traders: compare the total cost during your normal session and check the order tools you use most. A published minimum spread is insufficient to establish which broker will cost you least.

For TradingView users: the ActivTrader connection is a useful feature if the eligible instruments and order controls match your workflow. Test that connection before transferring an existing strategy.

For beginners: start by learning the demo platform, margin and risk controls. A low account-opening threshold does not make leveraged trading low risk.

For long-term investors: compare overnight CFD costs with a service offering direct share or ETF ownership. For automated strategies, confirm the platform, code compatibility and trading-policy restrictions.

Use TraderFactor’s forex broker comparison page to build a shortlist, then verify each provider’s latest terms for your own jurisdiction.

  4. Select the platform and account currency. If TradingView is your priority, confirm ActivTrader access.
  5. Practise and assess the costs. Learn the order ticket and account controls before deciding whether to fund a live account.

ActivTrades review 2026: frequently asked questions

Is ActivTrades a legitimate regulated broker?

ActivTrades operates regulated entities, including ActivTrades PLC in the UK. Check the exact company named in your agreement, its regulator and the website details. Group regulation does not make every account subject to the same protections.

What is the ActivTrades minimum deposit?

The Help Centre states no general minimum initial deposit for global, UK and European clients, with USD 250 required in certain jurisdictions. Confirm your own requirement at registration.

Does ActivTrades charge trading commissions?

Most products have no separate commission under the current published policy, including share and ETF CFDs. Exceptions apply. Spreads, financing and other charges can still contribute to your total cost.

Can I use ActivTrades with TradingView?

Yes, eligible clients can connect an ActivTrader account to TradingView. Use ActivTrader credentials and check the supported instruments and order functions. An MT4 or MT5 login is not interchangeable with that account.

Is ActivTrades suitable for scalping and Expert Advisors?

The broker permits scalping and algorithmic trading subject to its trading-policy restrictions. For Expert Advisors, use a supported MetaTrader setup and confirm regional availability and compatibility.

How long do ActivTrades withdrawals take?

The published target is processing within one business day. Bank transfers may take 3–5 business days to arrive, depending on bank processing. These are published estimates, not a withdrawal test by TraderFactor.

Does ActivTrades offer an Islamic account?

Yes, subject to eligibility and conditions. The published terms include a five-day grace period on eligible positions and specific product exclusions or charges. It is not a blanket promise of free overnight holding.

Is TraderFactor an ActivTrades IB partner?

Yes. TraderFactor is an introducing broker partner and may receive remuneration from referrals through the affiliate links in this review. Account approval, trading services and contractual conditions are handled by ActivTrades.

Final assessment: match the account to your trading needs

ActivTrades merits a place on a CFD broker shortlist for its platform choice, TradingView connection and published spread-based pricing. Its suitability still depends on the entity you can join, the markets you trade and the complete cost of holding those positions.

Before committing money, confirm four things: your contracting entity, your platform, your total trading costs and your risk limits. Those checks make the review useful to your own circumstances.
